This notice explains how John Stainer, trading as Design303, uses personal information connected with this website and freelance enquiries.

Who is responsible for your information?

The data controller is John Stainer trading as Design303, based in the South West, UK. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@design303.co.uk.

Information collected

Why it is used

Information is used to answer enquiries, prepare quotations, deliver agreed services, administer projects and payments, keep appropriate business records, protect the website and improve the service.

The legal bases relied on are steps requested before entering a contract, performance of a contract, legal obligations, legitimate interests in running and securing a freelance business, and consent where an optional service requires it.

Who receives information?

Information may be handled by trusted service providers used to operate the business, including Cloudflare for website delivery and security and the email provider used to receive correspondence. Professional advisers or public authorities may receive information where reasonably necessary or legally required.

The main website requests typefaces from Google Fonts, which may receive technical connection data. SoundCloud is not contacted by the embedded player unless you choose to load optional media. Once loaded, SoundCloud applies its own privacy practices.

International processing

Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, Design303 expects the provider to use a recognised legal safeguard, such as an adequacy regulation or approved contractual protections.

How long information is kept

Information is kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose collected, to maintain necessary project and financial records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Unsuccessful enquiries are reviewed and deleted when no longer reasonably required.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain uses. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@design303.co.uk to make a request.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Cookies and browser storage

This site does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. It uses essential browser storage to remember whether you accepted or declined optional third-party media. This choice is stored under design303_optional_media.

If you accept optional media, the SoundCloud player is loaded and SoundCloud may use cookies or similar technology. You can revisit the choice with “Cookie settings” in the website footer, or clear this site's browser data. Choosing “Essential only” leaves the SoundCloud player unloaded.

Changes to this notice

This notice will be updated if the website begins using new forms, mailing lists, analytics, advertising tools or other services that change how information is handled.

This is a practical privacy template for the current website configuration and should be reviewed whenever the business or site tools change.
